About Us

In the beginning...

Medical Sales & Service was founded in 1975 by James T. (Tom) Turnbull and John Turnbull (no relation). The company was initally established to fulfill a need in the Western Asutralian healthcare market for the servicing of medical equipment in the areas of anaesthetics, resuscitation, respiratory/oxygen therapy and infant care.

It was quickly realised that we were in a rather unique position to market medical products whilst carrying out our servicing procedures in operating theatres, birth suites, nurseries, wards and emergency departments, and the sales side of Medical Sales & Service was born.

The present day...

From its humble beginnings, to a nationally recognized and respected organisation has developed and indeed become an integral player in the WA Healthcare market at large. Some 34 years on, we have become preferred suppliers to both Government and Private Hospitals and currently hold a number of Tenders and Contracts. We represent a large range of consumable & capital items used commonly throughout the Hospitals & Day Surgeries.

The team...

A friendly and happy team of twelve plus several sub contractors make up the staff of Medical Sales & Service. Directed by Terry Gilbert (Managing Director/Service Manager) the company is ably supported by a team of experienced and dedicated office and sales people. It goes without saying that all of these people play a very important role in the day to day operations of a busy and successful company. Their dedication to customer care and outstanding service has made the company what it is today.

The Sales Team led by Rod Dowding (Sales Manager) consists of Jacqui Fairhead (Clinical Sales Specialist), Howard Brockman (Territory Manager) & Anne-Marie Nylander (Clinical Nurse). Our sales professionals cover the entire state of Western Australia bringing both Metropolitan & Country Hospitals up to date with what's new and innovative as well as constantly updating them via mail, phone facsimile and e-mail.

A giant leap forward...

Our policy towards quality and service led us to work towards and obtain our Quality Assurance endorsement to ISO9001-2008 (License Number QEC6743). This enabled us to implement a wide range of strategies to ensure that our office and warehousing procedures worked with precision and stood us in good stead for the supply of products and service contracts to the Government Institutions in Western Australia. We worked very had to achieve this status and maintain our endorsement by continually striving to improve the quality of our performance.
